The Australorp

The Australorp has been a favorite of ours since 1992. Their black feathers have an iridescent beetle sheen in the sunlight and colors of green, purple, and blue hues glisten.

The Austrlorp is an excellent dual-purpose bird, which can be raised to produce both eggs and meat.

Egg Laying — Australorps are excellent layers of light to rich brown eggs and are good winter layers.

Hardy — The Australorp does well in both hot and cold climates.

Temperament – Australorps are known to be an extremely friendly large breed chicken.

Adaptability – Australorps tolerate confinement well, and they are also good foragers, which makes them well suited for free-ranging.
