Heritage Rhode Island Reds
Don't confuse this bird with what the large hatcheries are selling, they're are not the same! The Heritage Rhode Island Red is on the watch list of the Livestock Conservancy.
These birds lay 200 plus eggs a year, still have all the natural instincts of a Heritage breed. Both Roosters and Hens are docile birds.
Visually, the Heritage Rhode Island Reds are a larger and a darker red then hatchery birds. They’re a wonderful dual purpose bird for homesteading.
Our Birds can be traced back to Grand Master Exhibitor Lloyd Flanagan of Texas. Lloyd Flanagan has worked and improved his bloodline for over 30 years and was inducted into the Rhode Island Red Club Hall of Fame in 2001
